How far is it? How long are the tours? Is there much walking?
Our tours typically run for approximately 1 hour, covering a distance of 1km from the starting point to the end of the tour. Guests are to make their own way back to the starting point at the end of the tour, should they need to.
Busselton is a very flat city, there are no hills or steep inclines on the tours.
Are the tours accessible for wheelchairs, prams and guests with mobility issues?
Our tours are accessible for all! All tours can be made wheelchair and pram friendly. We make numerous stops whilst on the tours, most stops will have somewhere to sit for those that need a short rest.
Please let us know upon booking if your group includes a person using a wheelchair or other mobility devices so we can make sure all routes are accessible.
What should I wear?
We suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes, either open or closed, regardless of your fitness level.
A hat is strongly recommended in the hotter months. Other than that you can wear whatever you fancy.
What should I bring?
Water! Bring a bottle of water, which you can refill at water fountains along the way if needed.
Camera! Capture some special moments and the hidden gems!
Weather-wear! You may want to bring an umbrella or raincoat for drizzly days, a light jacket for blustery days, or sun protection for summer.
Apart from that just come equipped with a good attitude and be ready to have fun.
Do you have private tours?
Of course!
Private tours can be as big or as small as requested. They are available for everyone, from a solo traveller, to a family, to a corporate or school group. Private tours can be customised depending on what you would like from a tour. Please note, no transportation is provided on any Busselton Walking Tours tours.
For corporate or tour operators bookings please contact sian@busseltonwalkingtours.com.au with your requirements.
How may weather affect the tour?
We walk in rain, hail or shine – until our hot weather policy kicks in. If a day’s forecast is a temperature of 41 degrees Celsius or higher 12-24 hours before any tour begins, it will be cancelled and notification will be sent out. Walkers will be contacted for the option of a refund or rescheduling.
I have elderly people with me, will they be able to come with us?
Yes, the pace is leisurely and the terrain in Busselton is mostly flat.
All our tours can be made wheelchair accessible, please let us know in advance if this is a requirement.
Are children allowed? Can I bring my kids?
Yes, children are most definitely welcome. Children under 14 can come on the tours for free as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult.
How big can my group be?
Our average group size for public tours is 10-15. For private bookings, there is no limit on group sizes, our guides have conducted tours with up to 40 people. For larger groups the guide will use a voice amplifier device to ensure everyone can enjoy the experience.
Do I need to book in advance? Can I just arrive on the day without a booking?
Bookings do need to be made in advance however, if unbooked guests are at the meeting spot when a tour is due to commence we will do our best to accommodate you.
Where do the tours start?
The meeting spot for all public tours is outside the Busselton Visitor Centre, next to the famous Busselton Jetty. The guide will have a Busselton Walking Tours sign clearly visible and a big smile on their face!
Where do the tours end?
All public tours end at St. Mary’s Church on Peel Terrace.
What language will the tour be in?
All our tours are conducted in English. For private tours conducted in languages other than English please contact sian@busseltonwalkingtours.com.au
